Ib Kofold-Larsen Credenza with Tambour Doors
With its warm, gleaming teak construction, sliding tambour doors, rounded edges, and shapely Eames-era design, the credenza is elevated to a form of functional art object. It has two generous side cabinets (with three adjustable shelves) and three shallow felt-lined cutlery drawers in the center. Recessed tambour doors slide out of sight, highlighting the elegant Danish construction, while the arched stretcher base gives this substantial beauty a light and graceful presence. Stamped "Made in Denmark," without a designer's mark, but we think this is the work of Ib Kofold-Larsen. We rarely see mid-century furniture in as excellent condition as this credenza. It has no scratches, no cigarette burns, no water marks or stains of any kind. This credenza is superbly constructed, solid and sturdy—a legacy piece that will continue to look as beautiful in fifty years as it does now. Dimensions: 83" long by 19.75" deep by 31.5" high.
